It is 2017 and I am still fucking pissed that Beth Greene died.
Stopped watching TWD after this shit
🙌🏽

Yes, I know. I actually first saw the comment post- episode 5, so before the finale even aired. It was from an interview dated April 15, so the day after episode 1 aired. I didn’t say anything about it then because I like Kit so much that I want to think the best of him. I only addressed it later because his comments then, compounded with his comments in the EW article from finale night, upset me.
In the April 15 interview he was specifically talking about “critics” who spend “30 minutes” writing, presumably negatively, about the show. So I suppose it isn’t a direct critique of fans (though all of us here far exceed 30 minutes of writing about the show lol). And I also wanna reiterate that I have been a fan of Kit for years. I don’t have any ill will toward him. But I do strongly disagree with his feelings about the season, and his comments about the season.
I know that he worked on it alongside the crew and other cast. I know that in addition to how he may personally feel about it, he also can’t really speak badly about it in professionalism. I don’t expect him to join us in badmouthing the show. I also don’t expect him to stay silent. I expect the cast to say positive things about the show and those who worked to create it.
But I just think that speaking badly about people who DON’T like it is in poor taste. That’s it. I don’t dislike Kit Harington. I’m not attacking Kit Harington. He’s allowed his opinion, and I’m allowed mine. But my opinion is that for him to say people who critique a product–a product they’ve paid for, a piece of art that they’ve had deep emotional investment in for years–can “go fuck [themselves]” is pretty rude. I also think him telling fans they’re culpable in Dany’s wrongdoing is cringey, as is him predicting that people would call the season sexist and then refuting that assertion. I just wish he would allow us to feel our feelings about it and let people, especially women, have their opinions about Dany and about the sexist writing of her endgame without trying to shame them for it.
People who dislike/hate Daenerys said she would kill Jon when she found out he was a Targaryen. She didn’t. Instead, she saved his life again and asked him later to keep quiet, so that she wouldn’t lose everything that she worked so hard for. Then, when all was lost and Varys turned on her to support Jon instead, she still never harmed Jon.
Characters like Varys kept saying that Daenerys was too strong for Jon, that she would bend him to her will, and that she would never share her power with him. Tyrion said Daenerys would kill Jon for having a stronger claim to the throne than her.
Yet, in her final moments, let it be known that Daenerys Targaryen again proved them wrong, that she never even dreamed of harming Jon, her only family and the man she loved. Instead, she asked him to stand by her side, to be with her, to love her like she loved him, to rule together as equals. Let it be known that all the people who disliked her and the men who gaslighted and turned on her were wrong about that.
I miss the Night King
he should’ve killed everyone
